This Privacy Policy explains how Planting Season, operated by BOXA Network, ABN 72 151 694 685 ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website and app at plantingseasons.com. We keep what we collect to a minimum and we do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Contact and subscription details. Your email address when you sign up for planting calendars or updates, and your name, email and message when you use our contact form.
- Payment information. When you buy a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We receive confirmation of payment and a limited record such as the plan and the date.
- Garden and app data. The plants, beds, harvests and settings you enter. This is stored in your browser, and if you choose to sign in it syncs to your account so you can use it across devices.
- Usage data. Standard analytics through Google Analytics, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address. We use Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to prevent spam, which collects device and usage signals under Google's terms.
How we use it
To provide and improve the service, reply to your enquiries, send the calendars and emails you asked for, process and manage your subscription, keep your garden data synced, protect the site from spam and abuse, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers who help us run Planting Season: Stripe for payments, Google for Analytics and reCAPTCHA, our email and CRM provider, and our hosting and database providers. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. Some of them process data outside the United States.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to remember your preferences, such as your region. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Turning them off may affect some features.
How we store and keep your data
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. Garden data you create stays until you delete it or close your account.
Your choices and rights
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can delete your account from within the app, and you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you through our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time.
California residents
If you live in California, you may ask what personal information we have collected about you, ask us to delete it, and ask us to correct it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. Use our contact form to make a request.
Children
Planting Season is meant for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed. We will note significant changes on this page.
